W.R. Scott Equipment Ltd. was founded by W.R. Scott, known to many as Bill, when he opened the first branch in Edmonton, Alberta in 1967. Our family-owned company has expanded over the years into 2 branch locations – Edmonton and Airdrie/Calgary. Since our founding, we have maintained our focus of both providing the best in personalized customer service and developing strong relationships with our suppliers, partners and customers. Specializing in the sales, rental and service of compact equipment. In addition to the Mustang® manufacturing product line we have expanded our equipment offerings with the full Takeuchi line.
Bill Scott passed away in 2009. His daughter Marilyn Scott has stepped into his hard-to-fill shoes and carried on the family tradition by maintaining the many relationships he built with customers and suppliers. Marilyn’s background consists of working for her father while she attended high school and during her years at the University of Alberta.
Marilyn obtained her Bachelor of Commerce Degree and worked for the government of Alberta in various positions of increasing responsibility in the department of Alberta Apprenticeship and Career Development. Marilyn now manages both branches of W.R. Scott Equipment Ltd. and has carried on her father’s legacy.

Takeuchi is an ISO 9001 certified manufacturer of an extensive line of compact track loaders, compact excavators and compact wheel loaders. Founded in 1963, Takeuchi was the first company to introduce the compact excavator to North America, setting the stage for one of the highest growth product segments ever introduced in the compact equipment market. The compact excavator has become a main line product for both rental and construction/utility companies. Takeuchi continued to lead the compact construction industry with the introduction of the first compact track loader to North America.
